What is FruitTokens

FruitTokens is a project based platform that connects capital with real fruit shipments. Each project focuses on a specific opportunity, such as citrus from Spain or Rojo Brillante persimmon into a target country.

Tokens for a project are sold in order to finance the fruit purchase, packing and export. Once the fruit is sold, the final result is calculated and a share of the profit is distributed to token holders. Another share is reserved for the next project so the cycle can continue.

The goal is to build and grow fruit brands in new markets while giving token holders exposure to real world agricultural trade.

How FruitTokens works

  1. Projects are listed
    We select opportunities based on season, supply and demand, for example citrus from Spain or persimmon for a specific market. Each project has a funding target, token price and estimated cycle length.
  2. Investors buy tokens
    Investors choose a project and buy its tokens. Funds are held in the project wallet, mainly in XEC, and may be converted to fiat when needed for services such as shipping.
  3. Fruit is purchased and shipped
    The project funds the fruit, packing, quality control and logistics. The fruit is shipped to contracted buyers in the destination market.
  4. Fruit is sold and results calculated
    After the shipment is sold and costs are final, the profit or loss is calculated and published for the project.
  5. Profit share and reinvestment
    A share of the profit is allocated to token holders. Another share is used to support future projects, helping grow the FruitTokens ecosystem.

Understanding the risk

Fruit is not a static asset. It is perishable and its value depends on:

  • Market prices at the time of sale,
  • Quality on arrival and any claims from buyers,
  • Logistics performance, such as transit times and temperature control.

This means that returns can be attractive in some projects and lower or negative in others. FruitTokens does not offer guaranteed returns. It offers participation in real fruit trade where both upside and risk are present.
